Okoboji Winter Bdays '09
Well, my family made the trek to Bridges Bay in Okoboji
last weekend to celebrate our 4 December bdays!
(Lucas, Eric, Dad, & Owen) It was a great time by all,
and the water felt great. The boys ABSOLUTELY loved it
even more this year...so much more fun as Alic is more
independent and loves playing with his cousin Emily, and
Eric now will go down the slide since his cousin Lucas did too.
It is really something we all look forward to doing now every year....
thanks to Mom and her careful saving for it! :)
We have a week and 2 days left of school until break.
We will finish the semester before Xmas, so the craziness
of the week has began. I move into my house a week from today!!!
Well...I'll move a few things next Monday night before Eric's Xmas
concert, then then next night, but then the majority Wednesday
morning. We are all REALLY excited to get in!!!!! We won't
quite be settled by xmas, but what a blessing it will be to have
our HOME to go back to now!! I got a new table, washer and dryer,
clock, paintings, rugs...and will have to live there a bit to see
what else I may need!!! Visitors will be the next thing!!!
One more quick day of christmas shopping for me and I
will call it good. Haven't had too many goodies yet, so not
feeling very guilty...it will come, I'm sure! We will hit Salazar's
xmas eve, my family xmas morn, and Kelly's xmas night.
YIKES!!!! I'm tired already!
My xmas letters are going in the mail tomorrow...
nothing exciting, just a quick update~have a great
last week before xmas all!!!

Welcome baby girl!
Another busy week of school, concerts, ballgames, and shopping!
Basketball season on Tuesdays and Fridays is in full swing.
We got to enjoy the ms/hs winter concert this week too. It was so
neat, because in the end they invite whomever wants to up to sing the
halleluia chorus for the finale...neat! I ended up going christmas
shopping Wednesday night and did a little of my own personal 'gift'
I also ordered my kitchen table this week and finally found a washer
and dryer yesterday! Things are coming right along. I will slowly
move some things Dec 21/22 at night, then move it all the morning
of the 23rd. Nothing like waiting til the last minute!!! Oh well,
ust excited to get to go "home!"
Most exciting news this week is that Kelly's sister, Katie, had her
baby girl on Thursday night. Payton Marie is a little over 6lbs,
19 inches and is home now with mommy and daddy (in Tucson, AZ),
and Kelly's folks just got there today to welcome her home too.
Can't wait to meet her when they come home in February!!
This week will be kept busy by getting a semester test schedule ready,
some more xmas shopping, and getting bday presents for this next
eekend as my family heads to Okoboji to the hotel/waterpark to
celebrate the 4 December bdays we have, so that will be a great
time and we can't wait!
Have a super week all!!

It's December already!?!?!?!
What craziness!!! Thanksgiving is come and gone and here we
are with December...the last month of 2009...where did the time go?
Obviously I have no clue, as you can tell it's been a bit since I've blogged! ha.
Well...we returned to the dome a week ago Saturdya,. and got second
place to Solon. We are all so proud of the boys and everything they
accomplished this season. It was a fun ride! Thank goodness when
we got back we had three quick days and we had some nice time off
to enjoy...and try and rest!
Eric got to enjoy grandma and grandpa Lux and Salazar at his
school the Wed. before Thanksgiving for a grandparents program.
Each 2nd grade class had them for lunch then did a short program.
Very cute.
Kelly got his boys from Kansas City on the 20th, so they enjoyed the
dome with us and the week of Thanksgiving. Kelly's birthday was on
Thanksgiving...he swears that the whole US feasted in his honor. WOW....
Such a character he is! He turned 27, so now we are only 7 years
apart for a short time! HAHAHA.
Kelly's boys are great...such characters and imaginations those two have!
They get along great with Eric and Alic, so we are blessed with that fact.
We will get them again on Dec. 27 for a week when we will celebrate
Christmas with them and Kelly's family.
Saddest part of my week was that my grandma Lux passed away on
Nov. 26. She was 99! My last grandparent, so that was the hardest
part...God bless her she was tough til the end, but it was time. We
celebrated her funeral on Saturday, as all my cousins were home.
Dad is doing well, knowing it was a blessing that she is now at
peace.
I've started Christmas shopping and am knee deep in my list and
am also trying to start shopping for my house...which I take
possession on teh 21st!!! MERRY XMAS TO ME, huh!!?!?!?!
Have a great week all!

UNI DOME STYLE!
Well, as you can see...OUR TEAM ROCKS!!!!! The boys have
rolled out the mo-hawks again this week and evenrthing else
Nighthawk style they can. We will be heading back to the
UNI dome on Friday night to watch our team play Saturday
against Solon for the championship. Will be a tough game,
but we are behind them 100%!!!
Alic seems to be still celebrating his 4th bday! hahaha,
we went to Mom and dad's Monday night, and sure enough
Grandma had another present and a quick cake sitting and
waiting for him...spoiled!!! :) I can't get too upset, I did my
laundry for free while visiting...great perk. Eric will be 8 a
month from today, and I have no idea how I have an 8 year
old on my hands. I feel VERY old.
Kelly and I got to enjoy a night out at our school's musical,
"The Music Man" last weekend. Such fun, and the kids
rocked it. I am looking forward to enjoying the little bit of
time I have at home the next couple of weeks between sports.
I have started xmas shopping! I went to SFalls last weekend
w/Kelly's mom and got a great start. Also picked up some of
my own gifts for my new house. So much to think about
washer and dryer, garage and storing things in a permanent spot!
We are looking forward to getting Kelly's boys this weekend
for the week of Thanksgiving...they will get to spend Kelly's
bday with him on Thanksgiving day, as we will be at my
folks relaxing...yea!!!
Have a great week!

Another exciting crazy week!
Well here we are and a week of November is done!
Before I know it, Xmas will be calling and I will
be freaking out b/c I dont' have my xmas shopping
done....I better go this week!!! hahahah.
It has been such a fun week! Our Nighthawk football
team won Monday night and Friday night to get to
travel to the UNI dome on Nov 16 for state football....
so fun and exciting to catch this ride...fans are great,
boys are awesome, and we are looking forward to another
week of fun filled football craziness!!!!
I am getting caught up at work, and it feels good...even
though I ask my secretary every day if there is just a boring
day around here! LOL
The boys are great. Kelly is coming over soon to carve up mo-hawks
for them again...I'll put those pics on next week. :)
Today we celebrated Alic's 4th bday!!! We had the grandparents
and my brother and his wife over for a light supper and cake
with John Deere tractors on it...I made it so nothing fancy.
Alic got new shoes, fishing pole, planes, tractors, games,
flashlights and a book. He was pretty excited! Tomorrow
he's taking treats to the sitters...cute.
Eric is just loving the hype of the fb thing. Draws pics daily
for his new found heroes. Doing great at school, and got
a superb report card.
That's about it for me...just trying to breathe every day...will
be moving in the house Dec 19!!!! So now trying to think of
how to decorate, and when I'll get my new stuff!!!!
Have an awesome week!

Busy fun weekend!
Well, I flew to Arizona for the weekend with Kelly's mom to
visit his sis Kate, who is pregnant and
due on Dec . 13 ( or Nov. 29 as she'd like to believe! lol)
Katie was having a baby shower and we were
invited and decided to fly down for the weekend,
so we left Thursday night after conferences,
stayed at my friend Jolene's and flew out at 6am.
We arrived in Phoenix at 6:45am their
time and drove to Tucson from there.
Katie SUPPOSEDLY didn't know I
was coming...of course until we found
out that her husband Alex and her dad
let the cat out of the bag. NICE.
One less xmas present for them! HA
We had a great relaxing weekend which
I needed after a week of conferences,
volleyball game and playoff football
game on top of everyday stresses.
The weather was great. We shopped,
ate and ate some more! :) I was sad to
leave Sunday as it was 82 degrees,
but had two little boys at home
missing their mom...and Kelly too of course!
Kelly took the boys trick or treating
with some friends of ours here in town.
They had a great time and sent me
pics of their carved pumpkins and
all their candy. Kelly was such a
good sport....but he didn't wear his
costume. HAHAHA :) Eric had to
sing in church on Sunday so they
spent the day hanging out and waiting
for mom to come home.
This week will be spent at 2 football
games and catching up from last week.
Unbelievable that it is November. Alic will
be 4 a week from today, so I will also be
planning a bday party too!!!
Have a great week everybody!!!

Here we come Halloween!!!
Well another busy fly by week here. I am getting to the point
where I barely can remember what went on yesterday,
let alone Monday!
Last weekend the boys and I visited a local pumpkin
patch last Saturday while it was nice. It was just the
right size of place, and we got some cute decorations for
the apartment. Sunday was spent at our friends son's baptism...
it was nice to see everyone again!
This week I started working out again finally. The hospital has a nice workout
room and they offer circuit, so I joined up. A lil sore to start
but am looking forward to staying in shape again.
Our students had their first vocal concert Tues. They are tremendous and
we have a ton of kids in choir, which is great. Wed. our girls played
first round vb tourney and lost unfortunately. Thursday was
our spirit club's fundraiser auction. $230 dollars later I came home with a
Nighthawk sweatshirt purse, fall decoration, and 4 packages of ribeye steaks.
I am not good at an auction, let me tell you...that was an experience for me!
Friday the Nighthawk fb team won the district by beating Sioux Center.
We will hopefully host all 3 playoff games and get to head to
the dome this year!!!!! It is so fun and exciting! I can't wait
to see what bb season brings soon!
Next week is P-T conferences, so I'm preparing for another busy week.
Still loving the job and loving life. The boys have picked out their costumes
for next week as you can see...too funny...Kelly has picked his out too.
HAHAHAHA!!!!!
Enjoy your week...keep in touch.

Busy Baby Weekend!
Well, this weekend was full of babies! My good friend Paula
was blessed with a baby boy, Carson Gabriel, on Friday night...
big 9 pounder! Then our friends Noah and Susan also had a baby boy,
Ashton Cade at midnight Friday also, they are also doing great!
We spent the day today with our other good friends Adam and Jen
Douma at their son, Caden's baptism in Sanborn...babies everywhere!!!!
School is good. The quarter ends tomorrow....only three more to go!
Things are finally starting to slow down and settle in.
We have at least 4 cases of confirmed H1N1 at our school.
On Friday we had 50 kids gone from grades 6-12.
We are hoping this week gets better! I was down with the cold last Monday
and Alic had little bit of a fever too, but we are on the mend.
We were lucky enough to head to Stuart Thursday night and
surprise the coaches and vb girls at their last home game of
the season. It was great to see everyone and was a long night,
but well worth the trip.
My house is still on the market in Stuart, and from what
looks like in the dark is in good shape! HA!! Hopefully it
will sell before it gets too cold....keep praying for it to happen!
Hope you all have a good week...we start vb tourneys
here this week and finish the regular fball season up this Friday
and wish our teams the best of luck!!
Keep in touch with me @ nrlsalazar@yahoo.com

My First Blog
Well I felt Paula has inspired me to blog. I feel so many of you I don't keep in touch with enough as I just don't have enough time in the day, so maybe if I can keep this updated then I won't feel as guilty! :)
School has been going well! We are one week away from the end of the first quarter and just finished my first homecoming last week. From what I can tell the kids had a great time. And then we won our game against undefeated/ranked Western Christian! That solidified our win of the district and we remain undefeated this season also. What a ride this has been and is going to be!!
Eric loves school and his teacher, and has made new friends without any troubles...Alic is loving daycare, and kids to play with. They will both have birthdays soon, and can't wait to turn a year older.
Kelly and I are doing great! He has sold his place in Sanborn and moved in with the elementary principal's house here in town. He bought a new semi truck and drives now for a guy in Sioux Center, ten minutes from here. He loves it and makes good money! HA!! Don't worry...we are no closer to you know what!
Basically we are very happy, but miss old friends. We want to try and get down to visit soon. The house hasn't sold yet, but there are prospects, so keep your fingers crossed and keep praying for it to sell please!!
Thanks for reading, I'll try and keep it updated regularly!!!
